Right from the start we have always believed that customer’s goods and belongings should be kept inside in dry, clean and secure self storage units. That’s why you won’t find outdoor container self storage offered on any of our sites, we want to provide the best possible solution to your self storage needs and for us that means being confident your items are kept inside, away from the elements. Access to your Self Storage Unit
All Beehive Self Storage locations have easy to access with parking readily available right outside, so there’s never far to walk. We also believe in providing simple access to your self storage unit so that you can treat it as your own and pop in when you need something. That’s why you’ll never find locked crates with us. Our business is built upon a firm belief that we are here to help our customers and that’s why we pride ourselves on excellent customer service. Whether that’s helping you calculate the space you need for self storage or arranging a van to help you move in, we’re happy to help. A member of our Customer Service Team is always on site during opening hours at every location so there’s always someone on hand if you have any questions or need a hand.

On top of that, just to show how much we’re here to help, we’ll also accept your deliveries and put them into your unit for you. We work with many businesses and even individuals who find this service really useful, so they no longer need to wait in for deliveries!

Over the years many customers have commented how handy it would be to be able to hire a van on site to move things to and from your unit. Moving Home
If you’re moving home, whether it be downsizing or relocating we can work with you to plan what you will need. We are very experienced in dealing with house moves and know that timings are subject to change on what can be a daily basis. We can work with you to ensure you are only paying for your storage unit when you need it and should you need it for longer than you originally planned, that’s fine too.
Boxes & Packing Materials
We believe that when moving house or preparing items for storage, using the right packing boxes and materials can make your move much easier. We stock a variety of packing materials such as packing boxes, bubble wrap, packing tape and furniture covers, in each of our branches to help ensure your move goes as smoothly as possible.
All of our Beehive packing cases are double walled to ensure that your goods receive double the protection. The Beehive Self Storage packing cases are extremely sturdy making them ideal for house moves and stacking within your storage unit. The strength and durability of our packing boxes mean they can be recycled to use time and time again.
How do I pay?
On the day your self storage starts, you will need to pay for the first 4 weeks in advance and provide us with a credit or debit card number to retain on file for any future payments. You don’t need to worry about anything else; we will send you invoices and automatically take future payments from your card.
Are there any hidden charges?
No. The only thing you pay for is the weekly rental for the storage unit and any insurance cover you need.
How soon can I start storing?
You can move your goods in as soon as you like. We even offer same day storage so give your local site a call and they can get things arranged for you.
Do my goods need to be insured?
Yes, they do. Insurance is required for goods whilst they are stored here, although it does not have to be through us. We have a great value insurance offer, which costs just 90p per £1000 of cover, per week. If you have a policy that covers the goods whilst they are in store, we will just ask to keep a copy of your policy details on file and you must ensure the policy does not lapse.
What do I need to bring with me when I start my storage?
- Two forms of ID. One must be photographic ID such as a passport or driving licence. The other must be a recent utility bill or bank statement.
- Details of an emergency contact for you.
- Credit / Debit Card.
Will my goods be safe?
It is your storage unit, so you have to lock it. You must provide your own padlock for the unit or you can purchase one from us. You keep the keys, we don’t ask you for a key unless you want us to keep a spare for you. You control who can access your unit, we just need to know their names. Digital CCTV covers the facility 24/7 and our team monitor access on and off the site. Out of hours, the building is fully alarmed and linked to a monitoring control station and the emergency services.
What is the minimum rental period?
Our prices are based on a 4-week agreement with a 28-day minimum stay. For a small premium, we can accommodate your needs should you need storage on a 7 day basis.
How much notice do I need to give?
We ask for just 14 days notice of your intention to vacate your unit and this can be given in writing or by email.
Can I store anything?
Almost! Some items are prohibited from storage for safety and security reasons. They are items such as Drugs, Stolen Items, Firearms & Ammunition etc. Please speak to a member of our team for more information.

Document Archiving
We offer a Document Archiving Service within our purpose built, CCTV and 24/7 alarmed monitored Beehive Self Storage facility in Taunton. We will collect your archive documents from your premises and barcode them into our secure Archiving facility, until you need them again in future.
